INSIDERS AND OUTSIDERS: GLOBALISATION, CITIZENSHIP AND THE FUTURE OF EUROPE

The JMCE of King's College London is pleased to invite you to participate in its first annual conference which will take place on June 14th.

The title of the conference is "Insiders and outsiders". The theme is related to globalisation, citizenship and the future of Europe.The aim of the conference is to investigate the impact of globalisation on the definition of insiders and outsiders in the future of the EU, with a special attention to the question of citizenship and migration. The set of issues involved in the discussion ranges from definition of insiders and outsiders, to questions of identity and citizenship, from integration of migrants to anti-terrorist measures, from border control to neighbouring and foreign policy and from access of insiders and outsiders to social security systems, to impact on the welfare state.

Contributions from politics and law as well as interdisciplinary ones are welcome.

It will be a great opportunity for researchers to to contribute to the Centre's lively intellectual debate and for scholars working on similar issues to meet and exchange research ideas.
