Date: October 6, 2009
Location: King's College London
Date: Tuesday 6th October 2009
Time: 7 - 9pm
Place: The River Room, King's College, Strand Camp
I am pleased to confirm that we will have 3 speakers for Tuesday's careers event. All are barristers from Francis Taylor Building, one of the leading public law sets http://www.ftb.eu.com
Each barrister will talk for 15 minutes concentrating on 3 different themes outlined below. There will also be a chance to ask questions. Once the talks are over ELSA members will be able to socialise over drinks and nibbles.
1. "Promoting Diversity at the Bar"
Charles George QC, chairman of the Universities Group of the Bar Council's Neuberger Monitoring and Implementation Group on Entry to the Bar.
2. "A Young Barrister's Perspective"
Cain Ormondroyd, a second year tenant
3. "The Bar - a female perspective"
Saira Kabir Sheikh , winner of a "young lawyer of the year" award from the Association of Muslim Lawyers a couple of years ago.
There are only 40 places available for this event. Therefore, it is strictly for current ELSA members only. If you are a current member and would like to attend on Tuesday, please send an email to: careers@elsalondon.org.
There will be chance for Q&A and after the talks. ELSA has organised a reception (drinks and buffet) where members will get the opportunity to socialise with each other and with the three guest speakers in an informal and friendly setting.
